Jefferson County tax bills have been mailed

STEUBENVILLE — Tax bills for the first half of 2025 were mailed Monday, according to Jefferson County Treasurer Brian J. Scarpone.

Scarpone noted that the final day for payment without penalty will be March 4.

Those who do not receive a bill in the next several days should contact the county Treasurer’s Office at (740) 283-8572.

Officials encourage property owners planning to pay their bills by check or money order to mail their payments to P.O. Box 398, Steubenville, OH 43952. Payments also can be placed in the office’s drop box located on the alley side of the Jefferson County Courthouse. Credit or debit cards, along with e-checks, also will be accepted through an online payment at Jeffersoncountyoh.com, or by calling (877) 690-3729, and using jurisdiction code 4577. Information about the process can be found on the back of the tax bill, officials explained.

Scarpone said CSG Forte Payment System, the service provider, charges a convenience fee for this service.

He encourages those who usually pay with cash to use one of the above options for payment, if possible.

Those who want a receipt must return the entire statement along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

Scarpone said questions concerning the JB Solid Waste Special Assessment can be directed to (740) 266-6899.
