Mingo man charged with malicious assault
WEIRTON — A Mingo Junction man has been charged with malicious assault for allegedly stabbing a man in the leg on Saturday morning.
James Robert Lemmon, 42, of 442 W. Murdock St., faces the charge in Brooke County Magistrate Court, where his case is pending.
According to court documents, City Police responded to a report of two men fighting in the 3500 block of Main Street at about 10:30 a.m. and found a man waving his arms and telling them that Lemmon had stabbed him.
Police said they found Lemmon outside a gas station nearby and after questioning him, learned Lemmon had a pocketknife, with dried blood on it, on his person.
Police said images from video cameras at two nearby businesses show two men identified as Lemmon and the victim engaged in an altercation.
The said the victim was transported to WVU Medicine-Weirton Medical Center, where he was treated for his injuries.
