Members of the Weirton Trash Squad were honored during the Nov. 10 meeting of Weirton City Council. The recognition came in observance of Extra Mile Day, which honored those who take additional efforts to make their community a better place. Among those presented with proclamations by Mayor Dean Harris were, Mallory Hout, Ty Looman, Eric Maher, Jamie Fenske and Hollie Babik, who have been dedicating their time to travel through the city’s roadways and picking up garbage. — Craig Howell
