Assure America donates 412 Thanksgiving turkeys to local families in need

WEIRTON — Assure America Corp. continued its tradition of giving back to the community through its annual One Turkey, One Family charity program.

This year, the company donated 412 turkeys to charitable organizations throughout Hancock and Brooke counties, an increase from last year’s inaugural donation of 230 turkeys. Through the efforts and coordination of CHANGE Inc., Assure America distributed whole turkeys — the centerpiece of many Thanksgiving meals — to the following local organizations: Community Bread Basket Inc.; St. John the Evangelist Parrish — Food Pantry; Follansbee REACH Program; CHANGE Inc. — Weirton; CHANGE Inc. — Newell; Salvation Army — Weirton Corps; Salvation Army — Wellsburg Corps; Healthways Inc.; Weirton Ministerial Association — Weirton Senior Center; Hancock County Family Support Center; and Center of Hope Friendship Room.

“We are hopeful that many families in need are able to share in the Thanksgiving experience and enjoy meaningful time with their loved ones this year,” said Matthew A. Magnone, president of Assure America Corp. “It is a true privilege to serve the communities that have supported us for more than a century.”

Assure America plans to expand the One Turkey, One Family program in 2026 through a broader outreach campaign, aiming to reach even more families across the region.

The turkeys were purchased and sorted with the help of Sparkle Markets in Chester, New Cumberland and East Liverpool, which prepared 103 cases of 16- to 18-pound turkeys as part of the distribution.

Organizations interested in partnering for next year’s program are encouraged to contact the Assure America corporate office to be added to the 2026 distribution list.
