Adoption awareness
November has been proclaimed Adoption Awareness Month in Jefferson County to increase awareness of the changes and issues in adoption and to “focus attention on those children who live in the shadow of an uncertain future while they await permanent families.” Jefferson County Jobs and Family Services personnel say locally, there’s “an ongoing need to establish adoptive homes for children that need loving and caring parents.” Taking part in the presentation were, from left, county Commissioner Eric Timmons; JFS’s Glenda Jones, Maci Hay and Kim Thrower; county Commissioner Tony Morelli; JFS’s Tracey Dailey; and county Commissioner Jake Kleineke. — Linda Harris
