SVRTA sets holiday schedule

STEUBENVILLE — In observance of the Labor Day holiday, the Steel Valley Regional Transit Authority will not be operating bus service, and the offices will be closed Monday.

The regular schedule will resume Tuesday.

Sobriety checkpoint set in Weirton

WEIRTON — A sobriety checkpoint will be set up Saturday night on Penco Road.

Organized by the Weirton Police Department, in conjunction with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety and the Commission on Drunk Driving Prevention, the checkpoint will begin at approximately 7 p.m. Saturday and end at approximately 1 a.m. Sunday.
