County road work detailed

STEUBENVILLE — The Jefferson County Highway Department has released its work schedule for the coming week.

It includes:

• Chip and seal: Wells, Smithfield and Mount Pleasant townships

• Spot paving: County Road 54 (State Park-Mooretown Road)

• Pavement milling: County Road 43 (Ross Ridge-Alikanna Road)

• Bridge replacement: County Road 11 (Piney Fork Road), Knox Township Road 289 and Springfield Township Road 472 (Ridgewood)

• Contract tree trimming: County Road 53 (Bergholz-New Somerset Road)

Prevention board committee to meet

STEUBENVILLE — The finance committee of the Jefferson County Prevention and Recovery board will meet at 5 p.m. Sept. 3.

The meeting will be held in the board office, 524 Madison Ave.

Portion of U.S. Route 30 to be closed

CHESTER — A portion of the northbound lanes of U.S. Route 30, between Taylors Road and High Acres Drive, will be restricted to one lane to install new poles.

The closures will be scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Aug. 29. Flaggers will maintain traffic, and motorists are advised to slow down and expect delays.
