State Sen. Ryan Weld, R-Brooke, was in attendance at Monday’s meeting of Weirton Council to present $14,000 in Local Economic Development Assistance grant funding to benefit the Brooke-Hancock County Veterans Memorial Park. Weld noted the funds will be put toward improvements at the park. On hand for the presentation were, from left, Ward 1 Councilman Tim Connell; Weld; Veterans Park Committee members George Ash, Jim Bissett and Gus Monezis; Ward 7 Councilman Chris Jonczak; and Mayor Dean Harris.
