Three facing drug charges after local raid

STEUBENVILLE — Three people are facing drug charges after the Jefferson County Drug Task Force allegedly found cocaine and fentanyl in their possession following a series of raids Thursday in Steubenville.

Taken into custody were:

• George Lewis Boyd Jr., 50, 1321 Plum St., Steubenville, charged with two felony counts of possessing drugs.

• George Lewis Boyd III, 19, 1333 Euclid Ave., charged with two felony counts of possessing drugs.

• Tayonna Wade, 28. 928 Logan Ave., Toronto, facing two felony counts of possessing drugs plus an additional charge of illegally conveying drugs into a detention facility.

Detectives with the task force, with assistance from the Jefferson County Special Response Team, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and the Steubenville Police Department, allegedly seized 100 grams of cocaine, 80 stamp bags of fentanyl and $1,200.00 in cash after executing search warrants at a residence located at 1428 Pennsylvania Ave. and two apartments at 1500 Pennsylvania Ave..

Wade and the Boyds have been arraigned in Steubenville Municipal Court and are awaiting their preliminary hearings, Drug Task Force Commander Capt. Chris Vinci said.

Sheriff’s deputies, Steubenville police and the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office are part of the task force.
