STEUBENVILLE — The Jefferson County General Health District will again partner with Strong Towns Steubenville for Cycle the City in 2025, with the first ride set for Saturday.

It’s the third year the health district and Strong Towns have teamed up for the program, seen as an opportunity to share in a healthy, physical activity while promoting active transportation, and growing the bicycle community in Steubenville.

Scheduled for the third Saturday of the month from June through October, the rides will start at 9 a.m. Organizers said the riding tour will take participants through various parts of downtown Steubenville starting at Fort Steuben Park. Cyclists are asked to meet at the Historic Fort Steuben water fountain at 8:50 a.m., and the ride will end at the Saturday Market on Fourth Street for fellowship and refreshments with cyclists.

In addition to Saturday, rides are scheduled for July 19, Aug. 16, Sept. 20 and Oct. 18.

Organizers say for safety reasons, the rides are not intended for children learning to ride as cycling takes place on main roads. Multiple leaders will be riding with the group to support riders of different speeds.
