Planning, zoning meeting canceled

STEUBENVILLE — The Steubenville Planning and Zoning Commission’s regularly scheduled July 7 meeting has been canceled. The next meeting is set for Aug. 4.

Planned power outage announced

WELLSBURG — Officials with MonPower have announced electricity for about 227 customers in the Rabbit Hill Road area and adjacent lanes will be disrupted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today while crews perform work in that area.

The Brooke County Emergency Management Agency has announced residents seeking cool shelter during the current high heat may make arrangements by calling (304) 737-5002.

The Follansbee Community House and Wellsburg Banquet Hall on 12th Street will serve as cooling shelters up to about 6 p.m. during the day.
