Man admits to meth distribution

WHEELING — Lawrence James Reagan, 40, of Colliers, has admitted to the distribution of methamphetamine, according to information provided by the U.S. Attorney’s Office of Northern West Virginia.

Court documents indicate Reagan, also known as “Larry,” sold methamphetamine in Hancock County. Reagan faces up to 20 years in prison.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Carly Nogay is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. The Hancock/Brooke/Weirton Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, investigated. U.S. Magistrate Judge James P. Mazzone presided.

Airport board to meet

WINTERSVILLE — The Board of Trustees of the Jefferson County Regional Airport Authority will meet at 3 p.m., Monday, in the Public Conference Room of the Terminal Building at the Jefferson County Airpark.

Health board to meet

WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Board of Health will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Brooke County Courthouse.

The department’s budget for the 2026 fiscal year and cigar bars will be among issues discussed.

Hydrant flushing announced

WELLSBURG — The city’s fire hydrants will be flushed from Monday through May 23.

It will begin on Main and Marianna streets and continue to Charles and Yankee streets, Pleasant Avenue and White Bell Circle, with Washington Pike last.

Residents should check their water for discoloration before washing their clothes and run their cold water for a minute after flushing has occurred to allow it to clear up.
