Individuals inspected locally sourced fruits and vegetables being sold as part of Trinity Health System's Fresh Fridays for Health Farmers Market Friday. A pilot program, the farmers market was created to create another access point for people to acquire fresh produce, which the hospital system believes is "foundational to health," said Liz Schriner, Trinity's market director of mission and ethics. The program was a collaborative effort between Schriner and clinical dietician Jessica Rea. Schriner said Trinity hopes to continue hosting the market every Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of the YMCA Wellness Center at St. John Arena, 3151 Johnson Road, Steubenville, until the end of the season if participation is substantial enough. Local vendors present Friday included It's All Good Farm, Kolb Orchard and OES Bakes. — Christopher Dacanay
