The Woman's Club of Steubenville awarded two local high school seniors a scholarship for $1,000 each during its monthly meeting Monday. Members gathered at Steeplechase, where President Dr. Susanne Curn-Escobar, left, and Soundra Palmer, right, presented Steubenville High School senior Christian Hoffman and Catholic Central High School senior Olivia Dolfi with the awards. Officials called them "outstanding students" and applauded their academic success. Palmer said Hoffman has taken part in several high school activities and carries a 4.695 grade-point average. Dolfi's application informed the group she plans to attend Franciscan University of Steubenville and Duquesne University for law. — Julie Stenger
