1 min read

April has been declared Child Abuse Prevention Month in Jefferson County. Commissioners adopted a resolution Thursday to help focus attention on the plight of abused and neglected children, pointing out that last year children services investigated 312 allegations of abuse or neglect. Of those 312 cases, 42 were deemed substantial while 35 were found to be unsubstantiated. On hand for the presentation were, from left, Commissioners Eric Timmons and Tony Morelli; Jobs and Family Services Director Michele Santin; JFS Quality Assurance Manager Jennifer Yasho; JSFY Ongoing Supervisor Joseph DeSantis; and Commissioner Dave Maple.
