Four members of the Mingo Sportsman Club were in the right place at the right time Saturday. Bill Brumback, John Carmichael, Tee Fithen and Roy Fithen were at the club, preparing to attend a function together in Wintersville, when they spotted Keith Roberts walking on the grounds. Roberts, 56, was wanted out of Jefferson County for gross sexual imposition of a minor and failure to register as a sex offender, having fled from the U.S. Marshal Service about one week earlier. Roberts had been spotted in the area the day before, allegedly entering members' campers and using their supplies. Once Roberts had been identified, the three men surrounded him as Tee Fithen called the police. Roberts surrendered himself, and the men bound his hands using a plastic bag until police arrived to take him into custody.
