STEUBENVILLE -- A man charged with an assault that allegedly precipitated a Feb. 12 shooting in the 1400 block of Maryland Avenue was returned to Jefferson County Tuesday.
Trey Michael Jeter, 18, had been held in the Allegheny County jail since Pittsburgh police located him hours after the shooting. Police allege Jeter and the juvenile shooting victim had argued before the disagreement turned physical "and resulted in the juvenile victim and a male who was with (Jeter) exchanging gunfire."
Municipal Court Judge John Mascio set bond at $250,000 for Jeter, who was charged with felonious assault and scheduled a hearing for Friday. City police list Jeter's address as Steubenville, but court records say he resides at 4021 Brightway, Weirton.
