Warrant issued in drug investigation
STEUBENVILLE -- A warrant has been issued for the arrest of one person after police raided a Harding Avenue residence Wednesday evening, seizing a large quantity of drugs and a weapon.
Jefferson County Drug Task Force Commander Capt. John Lemal said detectives located roughly 123 grams of crack cocaine, about 100 unidentified pills and a gun with a high-capacity magazine when they executed a search warrant at 102 Harding Avenue.
The Drug Task Force, comprised of members of the Jefferson County Sheriffs Department, Steubenville police and the Jefferson County Prosecutor's Office, was assisted by the Jefferson County Special Response Team and Steubenville police.
Solid waste board to meet
ST. CLAIRSVILLE -- The Jefferson-Belmont Regional Solid Waste Authority Board will hold its regular monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Belmont JBGT building, 67895 Pickering Road.
There will also be a grant committee meeting at 4:30 p.m.
All meetings are subject to change, and area residents can contact one of our offices to confirm the status of the meeting on the day of the meeting. General board meetings are open to the public.
SVRTA board to meet
STEUBENVILLE -- The Steel Valley Regional Transit Authority will hold its regular board meeting at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Robert J. Cutri Modal Center on Adams Street.
E-911 board sets schedule for year
WINTERSVILLE -- The Jefferson County E-911 board of directors has set its meeting schedule for this year. All meetings are held at 6 p.m. at the emergency operations center.
Meetings will be held on April 1, June 3, Aug. 5, Oct. 7 and Dec. 2.
