Part of Seventh Street still closed
STEUBENVILLE -- Water main repairs on Seventh Street between Market and Adams streets have been completed, but the street will remain closed will repairs are made to the pavement.
City officials say the work area will remain closed to all traffic until Thursday evening.
"This closure is still needed to make street repairs so the travel lanes are safe for traffic," city officials said.

Brooke kindergarten registration set
WELLSBURG -- Registration for Brooke County Schools' kindergarten, for children who will be 5 years old as of June 30 will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 12 at Brooke Primary North (formerly Hooverson Heights Primary School, 304-527-0870) and Brooke Primary South (formerly Wellsburg Primary School, 304-737-0133).
Brooke Primary North serves children in Colliers, Weirton and Follansbee while Brooke Primary South serves children in Beech Bottom, Bethany and Wellsburg.
Those unable to attend on that day should call the appropriate school.
Transfers within or out of the county should be discussed with the schools' principals.
Parents or guardians should bring a birth certificate issued specifically by the state in which they were born, the child's Social Security number, a record of age-appropriate immunizations and health and dental examinations; proof of residency, such as a utility bill or bank statement with the parent's address and driver's license or other photo identification for the parent.
Parents of children currently in the school district's pre-kindergarten program do need to register them for kindergarten, but their records have been kept for kindergarten.

Brooke pre-kindergarten registration
WELLSBURG -- Pre-registration for Brooke County Schools' free pre-kindergarten program, which is open to children who will be 4 years old as of June 30, will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Feb. 12, March 5 and April 10 and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 15, March 8 and April 15 at the school board's office at 1201 Pleasant Ave.
Applications received outside those dates will be reviewed on the next scheduled application date. Pre-K packets can be found at www.brooke.k12.wv.us or picked up at Jennifer Martin's office at the board's office.
Parents or guardians registering children for pre-kindergarten should bring their driver's license or other photo identification; proof of residency, such as a utility bill or bank statement with the parent's address; a birth certificate issued specifically by the state in which they were born, the child's Social Security number, a record of age-appropriate immunizations and health and dental health examinations.
The health and dental assessment forms can be provided later as long as it's within 45 days of the new school year.
