STEUBENVILLE – A search warrant related to ongoing investigations concerning Eastern Gateway Community College was executed at the Steubenville campus Thursday afternoon, according to a press release from the office of state Auditor Keith Faber.

This action was separate from the August indictments of former college administrators, the release said.

Among those involved were officials from the auditor’s Special Investigations Unit, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Computer Crimes Unit, the U.S. Secret Service, the Columbus Division of Police’s Digital Forensics Unit and the Ohio Narcotics Intelligence Center, according to Faber’s office.

Faber, in a video press release, said the search was conducted “as part of an investigation looking into matters that have already been charged and are being prosecuted by our special prosecutors, and other concerns about financial irregularities here at the college.”
