Two charged after raid
STEUBENVILLE -- Two people were charged after the Jefferson County Drug Task Force seized multiple drugs and a firearm during a Friday morning search.
The search warrant was executed at 805 Market Square, Apartment D, where Jenna Brown, 28, and Charles Cody Dickey, 33, were taken into custody without incident by the Jefferson County Drug Task Force.
Detectives seized cocaine, methamphetamine, one firearm and U.S. currency.
Brown is charged with two felony counts of drug possession, and Dickey is charged with one felony count of having weapons under disability and one count of receiving stolen property. Additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation is ongoing, officials said.
The Drug Task Force is comprised of members from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, Steubenville Police Department and the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office. Members of the Jefferson County SRT team and Steubenville Police assisted.
Mingo Junction reschedules pickup
MINGO JUNCTION -- The Mingo Junction City Building will be closed on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Monday's garbage route will be picked up with Tuesday's route.
SVRTA board to meet
STEUBENVILLE -- The Steel Valley Regional Transit Authority will hold its regular board meeting at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Robert J. Cutri, Modal Center.
