Suspected drugs, cash, firearm seized during Mingo Junction bust

MINGO JUNCTION -- Authorities said suspected drugs, cash and a stolen gun were seized from a Lincoln Avenue residence Thursday, the latest salvo in ongoing efforts to crack down on trafficking in Jefferson County.
Jefferson County Drug Task Force Capt. John Lemal said Myron D. Harton, 34, of 411 Lincoln Ave., Mingo Junction, was arrested without incident after they found "more than a kilogram of suspected cocaine, hundreds of suspected fentanyl and Percocet tablets, one stolen firearm and U.S. currency" during a search of his home.
Harton is facing a felony charge of possession of cocaine and weapons under disability with major drug offender status, Lemal said, though additional charges could be tacked on.
The task force is comprised of members of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, the Steubenville Police Department and county prosecutor's office.
Assisting with the search were the Jefferson County Special Response Team and Mingo Junction Police Department.
Mingo Junction Police Chief Willie McKenzie III said the department "stood by and assisted with the suspect in the investigation."
McKenzie said, "To all individuals who are involved with selling drugs, don't look to come to Mingo as a hideout spot because eventually you will be caught and brought to justice.
"I definitely want to thank Sheriff Fred Abdalla Jr. and the Jefferson County Drug Task Force for all their hard work to make Jefferson County a safer place."
