The Alexander Street Bridge in Toronto has been reduced to one lane with two-way traffic maintained with temporary signals while crews prepare to replace the span's deck, one half at a time and build new approach slabs, support walls and expansion joints. The bridge is part of the Robert Urich Interchange, which includes on- and off-ramps for Fourth Street from state Route 7 at the city's north end. APBN Inc. of Pulaski, Pa. is the contractor for the $1.1 million project, which is being funded by state and city funds. — Warren Scott
