Two arrested, substances seized following warrant search

MINGO JUNCTION -- Execution of a narcotics search warrant in Mingo Junction by the Jefferson County Drug Task Force led to two arrests and the seizure of a large amount of suspected illegal substances on Thursday, according to a release from the task force.
Arrested without incident at Apt. 1, 756 Commercial St., were Michael Jett Jr., 26, and Jahquez Asuan Jett, 19. The arrests were made around 9:35 a.m., shortly after the search began, said Capt. John Lemal of the drug task force.
Michael Jett Jr. is charged with three felony counts of drug possession, and one of those three charges carries major drug offender status. He also faces one charge of weapons under disability.
Jahquez Asuan Jett is charged with one felony count of drug possession.
Both individuals are being housed at Jefferson County Justice Center, pending arraignment in Wintersville county court.
At the search location, pursuant to the warrant, the task force detectives seized large amounts of fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine, as well as a firearm and several thousand dollars in cash.
The task force, which is a consortium deriving members from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, Steubenville Police Department and Jefferson County Prosecutor's Office, was assisted in the search by Mingo Junction Police Department, the release said.
