Hancock school board to meet
NEW CUMBERLAND -- The Hancock County Board of Education will meet in a workshop and special meeting at 5:30 p.m., Monday, at the John D. Rockefeller IV Career Center.
The workshop will focus on the superintendent's current overview and the status of Hancock County Schools, with the special meeting to include votes on several personnel recommendations.
Council to hold special meeting
TORONTO -- Toronto Council will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Municipal Building to amend a city ordinance for the city's recreation levy to conform with new state election rules.
Jefferson County road work planned
STEUBENVILLE -- The Jefferson County Engineer's Department has released its schedule for road work for next week. It includes:
— Chip and seal: County Road 25 (Smithfield Station-Weems Road.)
— Mowing: Various roads.
— Pavement repairs: County Road 60 (East Springfield-Circle Green Road) and county Road 75 (Wolf Run Road.)
— Bridge replacement: County Road 49 (Elkhorn Road.)
— Landslide-slip repairs: County Road 26 (Fernwood Road at Dogtown Hill, closed until further notice.)
— Slip repair: County Road 74 (Mingo Junction-Goulds Road.)
Miscellaneous road closings will be announced.
