Good for the soul

The Fort Steuben Concert Series at the Louis Berkman Amphitheater on Thursday was headlined by the Soul Skool show band, featuring the vocal talents of Quandee Hudson, Michael Jett and Elise Rainbow. The band offered soul hits, ranging from slow and impassioned to up-tempo and danceable, along with plenty of call and response interactions with the crowd.Performing before them was the Soulful Femme Band, starring friends Cheryl Rinovato on guitar and Stevee Wellons with vocals. The concert series will resume next Thursday at 7 p.m. with performances from Pocket Change and Mark Eddy & the MVP Band. — Christopher Dacanay
