The Next delivered an evening of rock and roll for the latest in a series of free concerts held at Wellsburg Central Park by the Wellsburg 4th of July Committee with support from local businesses and groups. The week-long Independence Day celebration continues with performances at 7 p.m. by Nathan King today; 40 Plus on Saturday; Poor Man’s Heaven on Sunday; and Cross Creek the band on Monday. The Wellsburg 5K Run-Walk also will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Wellsburg Town Square, with registration at 7:30 a.m. — Warren Scott
