Area pet owners were invited to dress up their animals for a parade along Grove Street and the parking lot of the Wintersville Municipal Building when Wednesdays in Wintersville returned Wednesday. Tom and Sara Gentile of Valvoline Express Care sponsored the opening Mardi Gras-themed event, which also included jazz music by Matt Hill and Friends, an exhibit by local artist Tom Ott and a bounce house and other activities for children outside Wintersville United Methodist Church. Food trucks and miscellaneous vendors for the monthly street fair have been moved this year to the municipal building's parking lot and Grove Street. Set for 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. June 7, the next event will feature a Summer of Love theme and a retro band. — Warren Scott
