STEUBENVILLE -- The Steubenville Big Red Marching Band is taking its talent to the Magic Kingdom as musicians perform this week at Disney World.

About 80 performers are traveling to Orlando, Fla., from through Friday, where they will visit attractions and also participate in a mid-week parade. Band Director Rosalind Thacker said members will also spend time visiting the park and its many attractions, including Animal Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon, Disney Springs and Epcot Center. On Wednesday, they will showcase their musical stylings at the parade down Main Street in the Magic Kingdom around 2 p.m.

"We will play 'Dynamite' by BTS and I plan to put it on Facebook Live," she added.

Fundraisers have been held over the past four years, from sales of Kona Ice at football games to proceeds from varsity shows.

"We received almost $10,000 in donations from the community, which is exciting," Thacker said. "The students are so excited. They are looking forward to getting some of that warmth and sunshine."

She continued that 13 graduating seniors have given their time to rehearse so they could also make the journey.

"They have gone above and beyond to prepare for the trip."

The parade will appear on the Big Red Band Facebook page.
