STEUBENVILLE -- The Jefferson County Board of Elections will be consolidating some precincts and will be moving some precincts to a different polling location for the next election, officials have announced.
Every 10 years the precincts are reviewed and consolidated to meet the latest census results. Some precincts are being moved to make it easier and less congested for the voters and poll workers. The board will continue to review other precincts and locations to make future changes and consolidations as necessary.
— The village of Empire will be consolidated with the Grant Precinct and will continue to vote at the John M. Abdalla Building.
— The village of Mount Pleasant will be combined with the Emerson Precinct and will continue to vote at Friends Church in Mount Pleasant.
— The village of Irondale will be combined with the Saline Precinct and will now be voting at Saline Township Garage at 164 county Road 50A, Hammondsville.
— The old Smithfield Village Precinct will be combined with the Lincoln Precinct and will continue to vote at the Smithfield Fire Department.
— The village of Dillonvale will be combined with the Pine Valley Precinct and will continue to vote at the Dillonvale Village Building.
— The village of Bergholz will be combined with the Elk Precinct and will continue to vote at the Bergholz Fire Department.
— The village of Bloomingdale will be combined with the Wayne Precinct and will continue to vote at the Belvedere Firehouse.
The following Steubenville precincts will have their voting location changed from the Steubenville County Club and to the JeffCo Event Center at 256 John Scott Highway in order to provide a smother and less crowded voting center.
— Steubenville Precinct 5-2.
— Steubenville Precinct 5-3.
— Steubenville Precinct 6 - 1
The voters affected by these changes will receive a new voter's acknowledgement card that will advise the voter of their new voting precinct and/or their new voting location.
