County road work detailed
STEUBENVILLE -- Road closing and road work for next week have been announced by the Jefferson County Jefferson County Engineer's Office:
• County Road 60 (East Springfield-Circle Green Road), between county Road 75 (Wolf Run Road) and county Road 58 (Timothy Ridge), will be closed to all traffic from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday for culvert replacement. There will be no through traffic.
• County Road 23 (Bloomingdale-Smithfield Road), between Friendship Park and Wayne Township Road 195 (Moriah Road), will be closed to all traffic from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday for culvert replacement. There will be no through traffic.
Other work includes pavement repairs along county Road 60 (East Springfield-Circle Green Road); a bridge replacement on county Road 49 (Elkhorn Road); and landslide and slips repairs along county Road 26 (Fernwood Road, Dogtown Hill, which is closed until further notice) and county Road 34 (Bantam Ridge Road.)
ODOT road work continues
STEUBENVILLE -- The Ohio Department of Transportation plans work on several area roads. The schedule includes:
• State Route 7 southbound will be restricted to one lane of traffic in Brilliant for work relating to the Wellsburg bridge project. Following the completion of the southbound side, traffic will be restricted northbound at the same location. This work is expected to take several weeks to complete.
• A seven-mile stretch of state Route 7 from state Route 213 through Toronto to county Road 47 is restricted to one traffic lane in each direction for joint repair work. This work is in preparation for upcoming resurfacing work and is expected to last several weeks, with resurfacing work to start in June. The completion date is Oct. 31.
• Paving continues on a six-mile portion of state Route 152 in Stratton to state Route 213. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers. The project is scheduled to be completed by Oct. 31.
• Work will continue to remediate the hillside along the southbound lanes of state Route 7 between Steubenville and Mingo Junction. One lane will be maintained in each direction through the anticipated completion date of June 30, 2026.
• Median replacement work will continue along state Route 7 in Stratton. The work is scheduled to be completed by June 30.
• Work will continue on the U.S. Route 22 slide repair project just east of Piedmont Lake. Traffic is being maintained by temporary signals.
• Improvement work at the intersection of state Route 646 (College Street) and Main Street in Scio will continue. Traffic is being maintained with flaggers, and a future closure of the intersection will occur at a later date. The work is scheduled to be completed by June 30.
