Barbecue fundraiser planned
WINTERSVILLE -- A barbecue outreach event to raise money for the church building project for the New Covenant Free Will Baptist Church will be held from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. today and Saturday, according to Pastor Torez L. Hunt Sr., president and founder
The Put Your Foot in It fundraiser will feature fellowship, fun, good food and desserts and will be held at 134 Orchard St., Hunt said.
Attendees will have the chance to meet Hunt; Amelia Brown, financial secretary; and members of the church.
Weirton Park Board to meet
WEIRTON -- The Weirton Board of Parks and Recreation has called a special meeting at 8 a.m., Monday in the Weirton Room of the Millsop Community Center.
The agenda's lone item is an executive session to discuss personnel matters and property considerations.
County Road 22A to be closed
STEUBENVILLE -- Jefferson County Road 22A (Reeds Mill-Bloomingdale Road) will be closed to all traffic at the intersection of Shanley Drive from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday for culvert replacement, the Jefferson County Engineer's Department has announced.
There will be no through traffic at that point.
Solid waste board to meet
STEUBENVILLE -- The Jefferson-Belmont Regional Solid Waste Authority Board will hold its Regular monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Jefferson JBGT building, 228 Technology Way, Steubenville.

Library board to meet
STEUBENVILLE -- The board of trustees of the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Main Library on 407 S. Fourth St.
Data board to meet
STEUBENVILLE -- The Jefferson County Data Processing Board will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the probate conference room on the fourth floor of the courthouse.
JVS senior recognition night set
BLOOMINGDALE -- The Jefferson County Joint Vocational School will hold its Senior Recognition and Awards Ceremony on May 17.
A total of 137 seniors will receive their passports upon completing their education at the site. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the ceremonies will begin at 6 p.m. in the school commons. The event will also include remarks from JVS leaders, scholarship presentations, Class of 2023 presentations, attendance awards and vocational and academic awards of excellence and distinction as well as career and technical academic letters.
The keynote speaker will be Anthony Bailey, a 2004 graduate of the interactive technology program and owner-operator of Movin' and Groovin' Productions in Toronto.
ODOT road work continues
STEUBENVILLE -- The Ohio Department of Transportation plans work on several area roads. The schedule includes:
— Work is scheduled to begin Monday on a six-mile portion of state Route 152 in Stratton to state Route 213. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers. The project is scheduled to be completed by Oct. 31.
— Work will continue to remediate the hillside along the southbound lanes of state Route 7 between Steubenville and Mingo Junction. One lane will be maintained in each direction through the anticipated completion date of June 30, 2026.
— Median replacement work will continue along state Route 7 in Stratton. The work is scheduled to be completed by June 30.
— Work will continue on the U.S. Route 22 slide repair project just east of Piedmont Lake. Traffic is being maintained by temporary signals.
