Four arrested in Weirton as part of drug investigation

WEIRTON — Four individuals were arrested Friday as part of a drug-related investigation in the city, according to Weirton police.

According to Police Chief Charlie Kush, officers with the Weirton Police Department, supported by the Hancock-Brooke-Weirton Drug Task Force, executed a search warrant at 1201 Hanlin Way at approximately 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Josh Sponaugle and Nina Loyd were found at the residence and taken into custody, with an undetermined amount of drugs and paraphernalia discovered, according to the report. Sponaugle was charged with one count of delivery of a controlled substance, with Loyd charged with possession of a drug instrument.

Earlier in the day, at approximately 2 p.m., a vehicle driven by Jeff McMillan was seen leaving the Hanllin Way residence. Officers stopped the vehicle, charging McMillan with DUI. Police reported Jimmy Stevens was a passenger in the vehicle, and was found to have an active capias out of Hancock County Circuit Court.

Sponaugle is currently listed as being held in the West Virginia Northern Regional Jail, with no bond set as of Sunday afternoon.

Stevens also is listed as being held in the Northern Regional Jail with no bond.
