STEUBENVILLE -- The audience will be invited to explore the complexities of the human conscience when the Shakespearean tragedy "Richard III" is presented by the theater department at the Franciscan University of Steubenville.
"Richard III" is a play based on the end of England's War of the Roses. This fast-paced and engaging presentation, directed by theater professor Monica Anderson, provokes thought about the violence done in pursuit of power and the ugly consequences of that destructive path.
Performances will be held at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Nov. 12-13 and at 2 p.m. Sunday and Nov. 14 in Anathan Theatre, on the ground level of Egan Hall.
Tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for students and seniors. Admission is free for religious and children under 12. Tickets can be purchased by calling (740) 283-6245 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday, or can be bought at the door.
In collaboration with the university's communication arts department, "Richard III" can be viewed through livestream at 7 p.m. Friday and Nov. 12, and on-demand for a limited time after each livestream at shss.franciscan.edu/Richard-III.
