Two arrested for drug possession
STEUBENVILLE -- Two men are in custody after police reportedly caught them Monday with large amounts of drugs in their possession, Jefferson County Drug Task Force Capt. John Lemal said.
Lloyd George Douglas Jr., 38, of 821 Oakmont Ave., was charged with one count of felony possession of drugs and one count of weapons under disability after officers caught him with over 500 grams -- more than a pound -- of fentanyl in his possession at an unidentified Sunset Boulevard business, Lamal said. Officers also seized more than $15,000 in cash and two firearms when they searched his residence, he added.
Lamal said evidence generated by the search led them to execute a search warrant of another business at the same Sunset Boulevard location. More than 500 grams of methamphetamine, 200 grams of what's believed to be cocaine, 87 grams of crack and other unidentified substances were seized, he said.
As a result of that raid, Lamal said city police charged Jacquin Rasaan Boston, 31, of 473 South Fifth St., with felony possession, with additional charges pending.
In addition to Steubenville police, officers with the Hancock-Brooke-Weirton Drug the Violent Crime Task Force also assisted, Lamal said.
Food truck visit postponed
FOLLANSBEE -- The food truck slated to appear outside the City Building today has been canceled because of illness.
The Lou Casini Jazz Quartet, which had been slated to perform there, will appear around noon May 19 to coincide with a food truck manned by Martoni's Oven Baked Pizza at the site from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day.
Cross Creek hearing set
WINTERSVILLE -- The Cross Creek Township Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing on the proposed zoning plan and resolution, as required by Section 519.06 of the Ohio Revised Code, at 7 p.m. June 15 at the Cross Creek Township garage located at 1267 Cadiz Road in Wintersville.
The proposed zoning plan and resolution, including text and maps, can be examined between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. beginning Saturday at the township garage.

Breakfast and lunch to be offered
STEUBENVILLE -- The Steubenville City Schools will be offering breakfast and lunch for children at no cost during the summer months starting June 1 and ending Aug. 13.
The following sites will be participating:

Breakfast 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Lunch 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
* McKinley STEM
Breakfast/lunch 10 a.m. to noon
