EMPIRE -- An Empire resident told deputies her husband was screaming, frightening their children. The woman told deputies they'd both been drinking but weren't intoxicated, and at one point she was standing on the steps when her husband allegedly tried to push past. She said reached out to push him away and he lost his balance, falling down the steps. The woman insisted the fall was an accident. The husband, who hid until deputies arrived, said his wife was drunk and threw him down the steps, possibly dislocating his shoulder. The husband didn't want to pursue charges.
