STEUBENVILLE -- A singer with ties to the area is scheduled to perform during tonight's episode of NBC's "America's Got Talent."

Ashley Marina Yankello, who was the overall winner in the 2019 Valley's Got Talent competition held at Steubenville High School, will appear during the 8 p.m. broadcast, which can be seen locally on WPXI-TV and WTOV-TV.

The 12-year-old is a resident of Kennedy Township, Pa., and recently completed seventh grade at Lincoln Park Performing Arts School in Midland, Pa.

She also has written 10 songs and performed the national anthem at professional sporting events including the June 6, 2019, game at PNC Park between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Atlanta Braves, and the West Virginia Derby. She sang "God Bless America" at PNC Park on May 20, 2018.

The daughter of Mark and Nina Yankello also has appeared in the Netflix series "Mindhunter" and Sony Pictures "Faith Under Fire: The Antoinette Tuff Story."

She was a featured performer in the "Sycamore Sings: Songs of Hope" series, which included 15-minute mini-concerts featuring top talent in the region and the nation. That series also served as a fundraiser for Sycamore Youth Center, according to Bobbyjon Bauman, the center's founder and director.
