Due to the precautions being taken surrounding the coronavirus, the following changes have been made regarding events and meetings in the local area:
¯ The Franciscan University of Steubenville Women's Scholarship Guild's annual Spring Into Spring fundraising event that had been scheduled for today has been canceled.
¯ The Jefferson County Fair Board has canceled its Thursday meeting. Fair officials said they await word from Gov. Mike DeWine regarding county fairs during the pandemic. Anyone with questions may call (740) 733-8230.
¯ The Jefferson County Safety Council announced that the May Safety Council meetings have been canceled
¯ All military meetings for the Jefferson County Veterans Association have been canceled until the end of summer. The cancellations include the annual Memorial Day service held at the Friendship Park Memorial Museum, where the Worπld War II equipment is on display.
¯ The Steubenville Rotary Club has suspended its weekly Friday meetings until further notice.
¯ The Steubenville Kiwanis Club has suspended its Tuesday noon luncheon meetings for May.
¯ Perpetual adoration in the Portiuncula Chapel on the campus of the Franciscan University of Steubenville has been is suspended, but the chapel will remain open for prayer each day from 5 a.m. to midnight. The monstrance will not be exposed.
¯ The Steubenville Retired Teachers meeting for May has been canceled.
¯ The Thursday Toronto Senior Citizens meeting and trips have been canceled.
¯ Two Ridges Presbyterian Church, 1085 Canton Road, Wintersville, plans to resume services on May 31.
¯ The Four Seasons Senior Citizens have canceled their meetings for the time being.
