Brooke Republicans set to meet
FOLLANSBEE -- The Brooke County Republicans will meet at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday in the Follansbee Branch Library, located at 844 Main St.
The public is invited to meet local candidates, hear local issues and get involved, according to Chairwoman Becky Deitch.

Stanton's Got Talent set for Feb. 21
HAMMONDSVILLE -- Stanton Elementary School students and teachers will entertain the crowds during the annual Stanton's Got Talent presentation on Feb. 21.
The event begins at 6 p.m. in the auditorium and acts include singers, tap dancers, gymnasts and a ukulele performance. Music teacher Jacqueline Harris, who has organized the activity for the past eight years, said a few teachers might also take the stage that evening. About 20 acts have performed in the past and Harris said the show gives entrants an opportunity to showcase their skills.
There is a $1 admission cost to benefit the school music program, which will help purchase music and instruments and make repairs.
