WEIRTON — Trinity Health System took another step toward expanding its services in the Ohio Valley Friday when it opened its first location in West Virginia.

Hospital officials were joined by representatives of the local business community, city officials and others in celebrating the opening of the new office at 334 Penco Road.

Chief Executive Officer Matt Grimshaw said it made sense for Trinity to cross the river into West Virginia to better serve patients.

“One of the missing pieces has been an access point to our West Virginia patients,” Grimshaw explained during a ribbon-cutting Friday morning. “We have big plans for the community.”

Lori Stinard, a family nurse practitioner, will be the primary provider of care at the office, seeing patients of all ages.

“We take newborns, pediatrics and adults,” she noted, adding they will be accepting new patients. “We would like to provide same-day services. Walk-ins are welcome.”

She added all insurances will be accepted, as are self-pay options.

Stinard also thanked Trinity for opening the office and expanding its service in the valley.

“We’re very excited to provide care to the community,” she said.

The office also soon will be joined by Dr. Joseph Schreiber.
