WEIRTON -- The Weirton Transit Corp. will be offering complementary rides to city voters on Tuesday as part of the municipal general election.
Voters will be able to use WTC's regular route bus, at no cost, letting the driver know they are going to their polling location to vote. In addition, those interested can contact the WTC office in advance and schedule an on-demand bus service, subject to availability.
Weirton Transit will be operating an extra on-demand bus from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday.

Other bus services will be available during regular operational hours.
All other Weirton municipal offices, including the Public Works Department, will be closed Tuesday. Garbage and recycling services will operate on their regular schedule.
Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Weirton's general election will include the selection of the city's mayor and all seven council seats.
Candidates for office include:
Mayor: Harold "Bubba" Miller (incumbent) and George Village
Ward 1 Council: Jonathan Curenton and Tim Connell (incumbent)
Ward 2 Council: Mike Adams (incumbent) and Ralph Cunningham
Ward 3 Council: Fred Marsh (incumbent)
Ward 4 Council: George Ash (incumbent)
Ward 5 Council: George Charnie Jr. and Flora Perrone
Ward 6 Council: Enzo Fracasso (incumbent)
Ward 7 Council: Terry Weigel (incumbent) and Shanon Schuetzner
Tuesday's ballot will include 11 proposed amendments to Weirton's city charter.
