CADIZ -- Some changes are in store for postal delivery services out of Cadiz.
The United States Postal Service Northern Ohio District announced Thursday evening the decision to relocate the Cadiz post office that serves the 43907 zip code.
According to a press release from the USPS, retail postal services will continue at the temporary post office located at 732 Peppard Ave. in the primary school parking lot until the post office opens for business at its new location.
The new location will be in the Miners Crossing development, located at 82422 Cadiz Jewett Road in Cadiz.
The USPS held a community contact meeting to discuss the Cadiz Post Office status nearly a year go, on May 7.
Officials said after carefully considering all comments made at the meeting, the decision to proceed with the new space project is now underway.
According to USPS officials, the project will allow the postal service to continue retail operations for its customers in Cadiz and improve the carrier service for the long term.
The postal service anticipates providing the same services at the new location as are currently provided to customers at the temporary location and looks forward to resuming full postal operation status as previously conducted out of the original Cadiz main post office, according to the release.
