JVS students spotlight their skills
FINGERPRINTING SKILLS — Criminal justice students at the Jefferson County Joint Vocational School show off their abilities with fingerprinting. BLOOMINGDALE — Jefferson County Joint Vocational School students showed off their abilities during the annual Spotlight on Skills competition held Feb. 1.
Students in academic and lab programs were judged by community business members as part of the event, although weather-related school closings delayed the awards presentation until Feb. 5.

SkillsUSA includes about 80 percent of the JCJVS students while other groups include the Business Professionals of America, Health Occupations Students of America, Future Career and Community Leaders of America and the Future Farmers of America.
Those who excel at the regionals are eligible to compete at the state events and potentially on the national level.
