DILLONVALE — Recently, appreciation was extended to Randall L. Gallagher Memorials Inc. workers for their expertise in moving the two Killed in Action monuments that had been located in front of the American Legion McCook Post 529 home to the Night Riders Park.
A certificate of appreciation was presented to the memorial owner and family by Michelle Hedgecoke, Legion commander, and Frank Santa, chaplain. The certificate has a picture of the larger KIA monument lit up at night in the park.
The monuments were moved due to the sale of the post home, it was noted. “This was carried out by their knowledge and care in transporting the stones,” according to Hedgecoke.
“Many compliments were heard from village citizens. Without the expertise and dedication of Randall L. Gallagher Memorial, the dreams of the local American Legion Post would not have come to fruition,” Hedgecoke said.
