Davis Brothers Pharmacy opens in New Cumberland

NEW CUMBERLAND – Area residents have a new option to meet their pharmacy needs following the recent opening of Davis Brothers Pharmacy in New Cumberland.

Located at 615 N. Chester St., in the New Cumberland Plaza, Davis Brothers Pharmacy is owned and operated by Jeff Davis, a 2007 graduate of Oak Glen High School, and a 2013 graduate of West Virginia University, where he earned his doctorate of pharmacy.

Davis, along with his parents, Jeff and Cindy, his brother, Joey, who plans to join the business following his own graduation from WVU in 2017, staff, friends and local officials, gathered at the pharmacy Wednesday to officially celebrate its opening.

A soft opening was held on Nov. 5.

Davis said he considers himself to be fortunate to have not only been able to find a job at a local pharmacy after completing his education, but now to be able to open his own business in the area at a time when so many of his peers are leaving the Ohio Valley to find work.

“It’s a blessing and a privilege,” he said, saying he believes it is important to support one’s community and local businesses.

In addition to pharmaceutical needs, Davis Brothers also provides immunizations, free prescription delivery, a private counseling room, blood pressure monitoring, a full over-the-counter sales area, medication therapy management and adherence assistance, automatic courtesy refill and Flavor Rx, as well as a 24-hour emergency answering service.

The business also offers Sync My Meds, a program that allows patients to eliminate multiple trips by consolidating their medications into one fill date each month.

“We’re the new team in town,” he said. “This is a challenge, and we’re ready to grab it by the horns.”

Davis credits his education, both at Oak Glen and WVU, for giving him a solid foundation, and thanked his family and friends for their support.

Davis Brothers Pharmacy is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. The business can be contacted at (304) 564-7249.
