Brooke County Sheriff Charged: Rian A. Harkins, 24, 106 Fourth St., Follansbee, domestic assault, Saturday. Steubenville Police Facing danger: A S. 4th Street resident complained that a male had “thrown a loaf of bread and hit her with it” during an argument, Sunday. She said the bread “hit (her) in the face” and wanted the male removed from the property, but police told her he’d established residency and would have to be evicted. Steubenville Police Telling whoppers: A woman claimed she was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, Saturday. She told police he “shoved her into an ‘object’ head-first along state Route 7” and she fell and lost consciousness in a wooded area next to the roadway. Police noted neither they or Steubenville EMS were able to locate any injuries to her head or face and when they pointed out there was no dirt or mud on her clothing as would be expected given weather conditions, they said she then told them she’d “already changed her clothing” before they arrived on scene, but a ...
