Steubenville Police Walking wounded: Police were asked to intercede with a man who allegedly "threatened bodily harm with a firearm" but currently had just a pocketknife, Thursday. When they entered his home, they said the man "became upset" and admitted he wanted to harm himself and at one point lunged toward a window and tried to "head-butt" it. By that time, police said they'd realized he'd already cut his neck with the knife and had to struggle to get him away from the window, eventually hitting him in the midsection to get him on the ground so they could get him under control. ...

Steubenville Police Getting pushy: Police responding to reports two people were disrupting a service at a North Fourth Street church ended up charging them both, but not for the alleged disturbance, Wednesday. Heather Giesler, no age or address listed, was cited for wrongful entrustment and the male police said was driving a tan Toyota sedan registered in her name, Joshua A. Humphreys, 34, of Weirton, was booked for driving under suspension and failing to stop and report an accident on a city street.
