Discussion: A city resident involved in a disturbance on Arden at Lincoln Avenue claimed he was trying to get away from his girlfriend because she tried to hit him with her car, Wednesday.
His girlfriend said he was “intoxicated and she was trying to take him home.” He said she was upset with him “after seeing a text from another woman.”
Wrong place, wrong time: A Ross Street resident was upset with a woman who walked into his home by mistake, Wednesday. He told police the woman came to his front door and opened it before realizing her mistake, telling him, “I’m sorry this is the wrong house” and left.
Stiffed: A pizza delivery driver told police a customer in the 1200 block of Plum Street shorted him $1, Thursday. He said the woman who answered the door took the pizza and handed him $20, and when he told her she owed him another dollar said she would be back with it and slammed the door. He said he knocked on the door for about five minutes, but she didn’t come back. Police spoke with the woman, who told police the individual who’d ordered the pizza was no longer there but she would pay the extra $1.
High tops: A dog was spotted sitting on a porch roof in the 1400 block of Ridge Avenue, Thursday. When police arrived, the dog was still there. They said the owner told them his dog “frequently climbs out of the upstairs window if it is left open and will sit on top of the roof.” Police said the dog climbed back through the window while they were there.
Big bang: An officer responded to the 1300 block of Wellesley Avenue for a report of roughly 15 shots fired, Thursday.
Several people in the area told them “it was near the intersection of Carnegie Street and Wellesley Avenue, and they believed it to be fireworks.” Officers made contact with a group in the 1300 block of Wellesley who told police they’d set off firecrackers. City code prohibits fireworks within city limits.
Switched up: A woman in the 100 block of North Fourth Street told police she was arguing with another woman who had threatened her with a cane, Friday. The woman with the cane said she’d texted her asking her to sell her prescription medication, and “when she saw her in the hallway told her not to ask her to do that ever again.” A lot of yelling ensued, she said, insisting she had the cane because she was trying to get a man out of an apartment.
Questions: A woman in the 100 block of North Fourth Street was causing problems, Friday. Police said she was “obviously intoxicated” and arguing with a resident who’d invited a few friends over for drinks. They said once she got drunk she became confrontational with another female in the apartment,” and when she was asked to leave she refused several times and then shoved the other woman. They just wanted her to leave the apartment.
