Living large: A Brilliant woman who takes care of her ex said they discovered someone has been funding their lifestyle with his money, Thursday. They told deputies more than $6,300 has disappeared from his account since Dec. 19.

Long distance: A Toronto resident told deputies someone used her information to open an account with AT&T in Holland, Ohio. She said she discovered the fraud after getting a “thank you for your visit” message from the carrier and discovered a $1,199 charge for an iPhone 14 pro they hadn’t purchased.

Items missing: A Toronto woman said jewelry, a penny bank and $480 in cash is missing from her bedridden mother’s home, Thursday. A wedding ring and band valued at $1,000 and a mother’s ring valued at $200 are among the items missing.

Steubenville Police

Naked and afraid: A caller reported a neighbor ran across the street to her house without any clothes on to “sit for a while” after arguing with a male in her home, Thursday. The neighbor said she gave the woman a robe to wear and she went home, and told police she saw the male drive by the home several times but that he didn’t talk with anyone. Police said they went to the home but no one came to the door, which was open, though they did observe signs of “some type of struggle” inside.

Not again: Catalytic converters were stolen from trucks parked in the 200 block of South Seventh Street, Thursday. The employee reporting the thefts said the trucks were parked behind a barbed wire fence with a locked gate.

Problems brewing: A mother and son in the 4000 block of Stratford Boulevard were fighting over a coffeepot, Thursday. The son told them he was standing at the counter when his mother wanted him to move so she could plug in her coffeepot. He said she “almost immediately” shoved him out of the way before he had a chance to react and the two of them started arguing and making derogatory statements” to each other. His mother wanted him forcibly removed from the residence, but since he’d established residency police said they couldn’t force him to leave.

Lock out: A man in the 400 block of South Sixth Street was yelling in the early hours of the morning, Thursday. Police said he told them his girlfriend locked him out and he was “yelling to get her to let him in.” Police told him he couldn’t be yelling at that time of night, but when they tried to make contact with the female she wouldn’t come to the door.

Troubled times: Police responding to reports of a disturbance in the 400 block of Colonial Drive said the couple told them they were arguing about “relationship issues,” Wednesday. The male said he was trying to leave for work but his girlfriend wouldn’t let him. She said he had a phone that belonged to her but he said he’d bought it and was letting her use it until she got one of her own. He eventually gave her the SIM card and went to work.

Code issues: Notices of violation were sent to owners/occupants of properties at 1429 Oak Grove Ave., scattered litter, junk and a collapsed swimming pool; 1340 Oak Grove Ave., kitchen stove, junk and household items; 1342 Oak Grove Ave., garbage bag in yard, ordinary household trash scattered; 421 Union Ave., utility trailer with a flat tire filled with mattresses and junk; 1303 Maryland Ave, garbage and an old toilet by a garage, a vehicle parked in the front yard.

Booked: DeWayne Rosser, 57, 701 Oak Grove Ave., bench warrant, Thursday; Crystal Hague, 38, 732 N. Sixth Ave., Steubenville, probation violation; Anna Clark, 35, no fixed address, is facing a drug abuse charge after she was allegedly found unresponsive in the 100 block of South Fourth Street, Thursday. Steubenville firefighters/EMS administered Narcan to resuscitated Clark, who also had an outstanding bench warrant for her arrest,

Cited: Shilyn Crawford, 26, 1406 Euclid Ave, Steubenville, failure to yield. Crawford was cited after a two-vehicle fender-bender on Sunset Boulevard at Estelle Avenue.
