Runaway car: A resident in the 300 block of Elm Street reported his vehicle stolen, but when police arrived, they spotted it over a hillside against a Spring Avenue residence, Sunday. The owner said the vehicle is a standard and he must have forgotten to set the parking brake. The tow truck operator who arrived on scene was unable to get the vehicle back up the hill, so the owner was going to contact another company for assistance. Because of the location of the vehicle, police said they were unable to determine if the structure on Spring Avenue was damaged.
Crash: The driver of a vehicle that crashed into a retaining wall told police he'd lost control and couldn't stop, Sunday. Ronnie L. Delatorre, 35, 226 Ohio St., was cited for driving under suspension and failure to control. Police said the crash caused heavy damage to the driver side of the car and deployed the front airbags.
Raging: A driver reported an elderly male driving a black hatchback in the 4300 block of Sunset Boulevard motioned him to pull over, and when he did, tried unsuccessfully to open his locked door, Sunday. He said when he couldn't open the door, the other male pounded on his window and told him to get out but he drove away instead.
Vanishing act: A Steubenville man who wanted police to remove an individual who was behaving erratically in his home asked them to search the residence to make sure he wasn't hiding, Sunday. Police said the man was gone when they arrived, but to reassure the homeowner they searched his home anyway.
Missing: A woman who said she was homeless who caused problems at a Steubenville business told police she was upset because she couldn't see her child in Columbus, Sunday. Officers were unable to find a place for the woman to stay for the night, and she walked away.
Booked: Lance Temple, 40, 523 North Fifth St., Steubenville, possession of drug paraphernalia. Temple allegedly had a digital scale with powder on the surface when they attempted to assist him while overdosing. Steubenville paramedics administered Narcan to revive him.
